Purpose
Aesthete Alley as an organization seeks to:
- Promote interest in artistic endeavors
- Pull back the curtain on the production and inspiration behind the arts and the culture.
- Provide commentary and criticism in an effort to promote healthy discourse around the modern artistic landscape
Values
Aesthete Alley holds several core values which are important to artistic flourishing.
- Freedom of expression: In this context, the right of everyone to share their ideas and experiences through the medium of art. Furthermore, the right of everyone to disseminate their opinion of others works and to engage in open discourse in the public forum.
- Honesty: the implied agreement between the creator and the experiencer that the work of art is conceived, in as much as is reasonable, through the “artistic spirit” and free from malevolent or undue influences. Additionally, the absence of undue influences on any piece which expands upon, critiques, or discusses a work of art.
